Levelling & boom angle
Monitor chassis or boom inclination to support levelling and operating limits.
Measure absolute angular position and levelling on industrial and mobile machinery. Choose a static sensor for stationary or slowly changing orientation, or a dynamic IMU-based sensor where acceleration, shock and vehicle motion would otherwise distort the angle.

Inclination sensors reference orientation to gravity, which avoids complex mechanical linkages for many levelling and angle tasks.
Monitor chassis or boom inclination to support levelling and operating limits.
Track body angle while tipping and returning to transport position.
Measure bucket/boom position where dynamic motion must be considered.
Use static angle measurement for platforms, machine alignment and solar-panel tracking.
Choose the dynamic JD family when external acceleration would corrupt a conventional gravity-only inclination measurement.
| Family | Angular range | Axes | Interface | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| JN22xx | ±180° | 2 | IO-Link | Static industrial/mobile; also exposes vibration-related data on current route |
| JN21xx | ±180° | 2 | CANopen | Static mobile machinery |
| JN23xx | ±180° | 2 | CAN / SAE J1939 | Static mobile machinery using J1939 |
| EC20xx | ±90° | 1 | Analogue / digital | Compact one-axis mobile applications |
| JD1xxx | 0…360° | 1 | CANopen / SAE route | Dynamic one-axis applications |
| JD2xxx | ±90° | 2 | CANopen / SAE route | Dynamic two-axis applications |
Static JN/EC sensors derive orientation from acceleration due to gravity. They are accurate for stationary and quasi-static motion but strong external acceleration can be interpreted as an inclination change.
The JD family combines acceleration sensing with a gyroscope so external acceleration can be compensated more effectively than with a purely static inclinometer.
Combines gravity information with angular-rate data to improve measurement during vehicle/machine dynamics.
Suitable for mobile equipment where boom, bucket or vehicle movement creates acceleration.
Current JD families use CAN-based interfaces and are intended for rugged mobile machinery.
Current JN22xx static inclination sensors provide raw 3D accelerometer data sequentially with inclination values over IO-Link, and calculated vibration indicators can also be available.
Use the same device for levelling or angular position.
Expose additional acceleration information for engineering or monitoring.
Current JN architecture can provide calculated vibration values and selectable filtering.
The wrong choice usually comes from overlooking how fast the machine moves.
