Pushbutton unit

PITgatebox

Operators should not have to walk to a remote panel to request entry or reset a machine. PITgatebox places those commands at the access point itself, in a die cast zinc housing built for the knocks a gate-mounted device actually takes — with optional RFID authentication so the command is only accepted from someone permitted to give it.

Why it is specified

PITgatebox provides at the gate

The design decisions are practical ones: survive the environment, mount on the profile already there, and wire in one connector.

Robust metal housing

High quality die cast zinc, IP65, highly robust to shock, vibration and collision.

Fits the existing frame

Slimline housing for space-saving installation on standard aluminium profile systems.

Authentication at the gate

PITreader with RFID keys activates the PITgatebox, so permissions are checked before the command is accepted.

Installation without wiring

M12 12-pin connection allows fast, simple installation without wiring the individual commands.

Applications

PITgatebox is used

The manufacturer lists control of machines such as presses and plants, and versatile combination with safety locking devices on sliding and swing doors.

Guard access

Request to enter at the door

The operator requests access at the gate itself, and the guard is released only when the machine state and the permission both allow it.

Activate, stop and reset

The manufacturer lists commands such as activate, stop or reset plant, issued locally rather than from a distant control panel.

Permission before access

With PITreader integrated, user permissions are checked via RFID transponder before the gate command is accepted.

Technical data

Selection parameters that matter

These are the values that decide the variant and the mounting. Full specifications and the command configurations belong to the selected order number.

PITgatebox is an operating unit. It issues commands; the safety function is completed by the guard device and the safety controller.

Variant decisions

Two choices normally define the order: the command set required at the access point, and whether authentication is integrated.

Pairings and spare parts

The manufacturer lists accessories and spare parts for the pushbutton unit, and the device is designed to combine with specific guard technologies.

Guard devices

PSENmlock and PSENslock

The manufacturer lists versatile combinations with safety locking devices such as PSENmlock or PSENslock, on sliding and swing doors.

Authentication

PITreader and RFID keys

The reader and its transponder keys are specified with the permission model, not as an afterthought.

Connection

M12 12-pin cabling

A single connector carries the commands, so cable length and routing are the main connection decisions.

Application review

The unit is specified from the access point and the commands the operator needs there, then from whether permission must be checked.

Access point

  • Number of doors or access points needing local commands
  • Which commands are required at each — activate, stop, reset
  • Mounting position, reach and visibility for the operator
  • Available aluminium profile or mounting face

Guard integration

  • Existing or planned guard device at that door
  • Whether guard locking is used, and which family
  • Existing safety controller and spare safe inputs
  • How the release is interlocked with machine state

Authentication

  • Whether permission must be checked before entry
  • Roles and what each is permitted to do
  • How keys are issued, changed and revoked
  • Whether entry needs to be recorded

Commercial

  • Quantity per machine and total quantity
  • Cable length and connection arrangement
  • Environmental exposure at the door
  • Required delivery timeline

The unit is the operator interface at the door. Permission may gate the command, but the guard device and the safety controller still decide whether the machine may actually be entered.
