PSENmlock

Where hazardous movement continues after the stop command, monitoring the guard is not enough — it has to stay shut until the hazard has actually ended. PSENmlock provides safe interlocking and safe guard locking in one device, both rated up to PL e / SIL 3, with a 7500 N holding force for heavy doors.

Why it is specified

PSENmlock provides

The distinguishing point is that both the interlocking and the locking functions are safety-rated, which is what allows the device to be used for personnel protection rather than process protection alone.

Selection parameters that matter

The manufacturer states that PSENmlock meets the requirements of ISO 13849-1, EN IEC 62061, IEC 61508 and EN ISO 14119. The values below are the ones that decide the variant.

IP69 applies subject to the cable being protected against high-pressure cleaning, per the manufacturer product information.

Holding force is not the same as personnel restraint in every case. The required locking arrangement, escape provision and release concept follow from the risk assessment for the specific guard.
