PSENscan

Two-dimensional area monitoring for spaces a straight protective plane cannot describe. A 275° field is configured to the real shape of the cell, with separate warning and protected zones, and the same device suits stationary guarding and vehicles that move.

Why it is specified

Scanner capabilities beyond a light curtain

A light curtain protects a plane. A scanner protects an area, which is what most real machine footprints actually require.

Field follows the cell

Warning and protected fields are configured freely and adapted to structural conditions rather than to a straight line.

Two-stage response

A warning zone allows the machine to slow or alert before the protected zone is broken and a stop is commanded.

Stationary and mobile

The manufacturer states the scanner is especially suitable for stationary and mobile area guarding, as well as access monitoring.

Serviceable head

Accessories include an exchangeable head and memory module, so a replacement can retain the configuration.

Access monitoring

Entry to the cell

Monitoring an opening that stays clear for material flow, where a person entering must still be detected.

Driverless vehicles.The manufacturer states that PSENscan detects objects on the vehicle's route and maintains safety even at high speeds, when safeguarding automated guided vehicle systems. Field switching with vehicle state is part of that design.

The safety zone and the warning zone are different ranges. Only the safety zone performs the protective function.

The mounting distance is calculated from the machine stopping time and the scanner reaction time together, using the applicable standard. The 62 ms figure is one term in that calculation, not the whole of it.
