Embedded Flash Capabilities

Cervoz embedded flash modules provide compact storage across socketed and connector-mounted formats. Interface, connector orientation, NAND series, endurance, power-loss behaviour and environmental options must be matched to the host and workload.

Compact board-level storage

Use M.2, mSATA, Half Size mSATA, HalfSlim, SATA disk and PATA disk formats where a conventional 2.5-inch drive is not suitable.

Boot and application storage

Provide local non-volatile storage for operating systems, firmware, configuration data and embedded applications.

Socketed and connector-mounted options

Select socketed modules for straightforward replacement or connector-mounted disk modules for cable-free installation and compact mechanical integration.

Managed flash behaviour

Match endurance, health reporting and power-loss features to the expected write workload and system power design.

Technical Features

Embedded flash must be matched to the motherboard connector, boot firmware, mechanical envelope, write workload and required field-service method.

Direct motherboard integration

M.2, mSATA, HalfSlim and SATA/PATA disk modules connect directly to the host without a conventional drive bay. Connector orientation, keying and keep-out space remain part of the system design.

Compact mechanical options

Low-profile socketed modules and vertical or horizontal disk modules fit systems where a conventional 2.5-inch drive is impractical. Thermal clearance and service access must be checked in the final enclosure.

Boot and firmware storage

Fixed flash can hold the operating system, recovery image, firmware or application data. BIOS or UEFI support, boot mode and partitioning must be compatible with the selected interface.

Flash reliability management

Supported product families combine BCH or LDPC ECC, static or dynamic wear levelling, bad-block management, S.M.A.R.T., TRIM, FlashMonitor, thermal throttling or end-to-end protection. The available functions depend on controller, interface and series.

Power-loss behaviour

Selected products add Powerguard capacitor-backed protection, while other families use Safeguard, Circuitguard or controller-level power-failure mechanisms. Optional write protection is available on specific modules and must be confirmed by model.

Socketed and connector-mounted integration

Socketed modules simplify replacement and software-image servicing, while connector-mounted disk modules reduce cabling and preserve internal space. The selected format must match service access and mechanical retention requirements.

Specifications

The Cervoz embedded-flash portfolio combines compact socketed modules with SATA and PATA disk modules for industrial boot, application and local-data storage.

Host compatibility Connector keying, lane allocation, BIOS/UEFI boot support, dimensions and connector orientation must match the host.

Applications

Embedded flash modules are suited to systems that need compact, dependable boot or local storage without the mechanical volume of a conventional drive.

Embedded boot

Store the operating system, recovery partition and application image on a compact board-direct device. Socketed and connector-mounted formats support serviceable industrial installations.

Industrial controllers

Provide cable-free storage inside PLC-like controllers, gateways and compact automation equipment. Power-loss behaviour matters when the controller can be switched off directly from machine power.

Medical equipment

Integrate fixed storage into portable or space-constrained medical electronics. Controlled revision and secure access help maintain a consistent software image during a long product lifecycle.

Transportation

Support boot, diagnostics and local logging in vehicle or rail systems. Wide-temperature and retention options support operation under vibration and temperature cycling.

Networking equipment

Hold firmware, configuration databases and local logs in routers, gateways and communication appliances. Small modules reduce internal cabling and preserve space for radio or I/O hardware.

Legacy systems

Replace aging PATA or SATA disk modules without redesigning the complete controller. Correct pin orientation, capacity limits and BIOS support must be checked against the original platform.
