Functional safety

Safety-capable variants contain a separate safety PLC architecture

Current compact safety controllers and ecomatController safety variants are designed for safety-related mobile functions up to the documented safety level when the complete application is engineered accordingly.

Current controller capability: ifm documents safety use up to SIL 2 / PL d for relevant controller variants. This is a component capability; machine-level safety still depends on sensors, logic, outputs, diagnostics, wiring and validation.
