The transmitter converts overall vibration severity into a standard analogue signal. That keeps the field device simple and puts warning, alarm and trend logic in the PLC, frequency converter or monitoring system.

VTV continuously outputs the RMS vibration velocity as a 4–20 mA signal. The analogue value can be scaled, trended and alarmed in a suitable control or monitoring system.

VTV is well suited to trending machine vibration severity when the host controller performs the alarm logic. If the requirement includes multi-axis condition indicators, bearing analysis or frequency-selective monitoring, review another ifm platform.
