PicoScope 5000 Series — FlexRes USB Oscilloscopes
Flexible-resolution USB oscilloscope family for mixed analog, digital and serial-bus debugging. The 5000 Series can operate as a fast 8-bit oscilloscope up to 1 GS/s or as a high-resolution 16-bit oscilloscope at lower sample rate, with up to 512 MS capture memory and optional MSO models.

Key Features
FlexRes Hardware Resolution
Switch between high-speed 8-bit acquisition and higher-resolution modes up to 16-bit hardware resolution, so the same instrument can handle both digital debug and low-level analog measurements.
Up to 200 MHz and 1 GS/s
The family covers 60, 100 and 200 MHz bandwidth classes, with 1 GS/s sampling at 8-bit resolution and 62.5 MS/s sampling at 16-bit resolution.
Deep 128–512 MS Capture Memory
Deep memory allows long captures at high timing resolution, segmented memory up to 10,000 segments and efficient analysis of rare events or protocol bursts.
MSO Models with 16 Digital Channels
Mixed-signal variants add 16 digital inputs, bus-style display, independent threshold control and digital triggering for analog-plus-logic debug.
Built-in 14-bit 200 MS/s AWG
All 5000D units include a 14-bit, 200 MS/s arbitrary waveform generator that can generate standard functions, imported waveforms and triggered waveform output.
USB 3.0 and Automation-ready SDK
SuperSpeed USB 3.0, compatibility with older USB standards and PicoSDK support make the series practical for portable benches, validation racks and custom measurement systems.

Applications
Analog + Digital Debug
Use analog channels, optional 16-channel logic capture and protocol decoding for MCU, FPGA, power-management and serial-interface troubleshooting.
Ripple and Control-loop Measurement
Use higher-resolution FlexRes modes and math functions to examine ripple, noise and energy-related waveforms more clearly than with basic 8-bit scopes.
Advanced Teaching Oscilloscope
One platform can demonstrate sampling rate, ADC resolution, spectrum analysis, serial decoding, AWG stimulus and mixed-signal measurement concepts.
Long Capture and Rare Event Debug
Deep memory and segmented capture help engineering teams find intermittent glitches, startup issues and sporadic communication failures.
Automated Test Systems
Use PicoSDK, USB 3.0 and compact fanless hardware to integrate repeatable measurement into validation rigs and production benches.
Low-level Signal Analysis
High-resolution acquisition modes support sensor, audio, biomedical and other low-level analog measurements where extra vertical resolution is useful.
